The baskets are divided into three categories –
Teacher: This category is for teachers who are at the Gathering or for anyone who regularly teaches classes (one class a month on average)
Prizes:
Best in Show $100
Second prize $75
The Teachers Best of Show also includes a traveling award commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Guild in 2005. It will be awarded to this year’s winning teacher and then passed to the winner of next year’s Gathering Teacher Best of Show.
General Membership: A member of the Northeast Basketmakers Guild who does not fall into the Teacher category
Prizes:
Best in Show $100
Second prize $75
Third prize $50
Novice: A member of the Northeast Basketmakers Guild who has with less than two years experience in basketweaving or someone who is a first-time attendee at the Gathering
Prizes:
First prize $50
Second prize $25
